Halloween Recipes inspired by The Undertaker

Happy Diwali to everybody who celebrates this beautiful festival of lights!

Meanwhile, Halloween is coming up too, and I bet a lot of you must be gearing up for halloween parties. If you are throwing one, you probably are thinking of some fun recipe ideas too. I got the opportunity to guest blog for Full Circle and this time I got to suggest a topic. So taking cue from my foodie consultant (guess who?), I thought that there are a lot of WWE fans out there, and in particular, fans of The Undertaker. So I took inspiration from the iconic Undertaker, aka The Phenom, The Deadman, and came up with a few recipes that I think would be pretty apt for Halloween.

Father's Day Gift Ideas Guest Post

I guest blogged for Full Circle a couple days ago. I was asked to write on the topic, "5 Great Gifts for Foodie Fathers." As ever, limiting the list to only 5 was so tough! I mean, there are so many great gifts out there. Well, who do you think I approached to give me ideas? Aditya, of course! He is a foodie, as in all caps FOODIE! And for those of you that don't know, he recently became a dad to this cute little baby boy, who I can't wait to meet!

Organic Eating

I got another opportunity to guest blog for Full Circle (thanks FC!) last week. The topic given to me this time was  "How Eating Organically can keep you Healthy."  This is such a vast topic, and a very debatable one too, and trying to stick to a 500 word limit sure was tough! 

My personal opinion is that not every food you eat has to be organic- I mean, if you can afford it, sure, but going all organic can become an expensive affair. There are several good alternatives to organic foods out there. So does eating organic directly equate to eating healthy? Well, think about this- you buy all those organic vegetables, meat, and poultry- great start! And then you just deep fry everything in lard and consume it. What do you think just happened? ;) 

Eat healthy, exercise, stay healthy, because after all, health IS wealth!

Pre-Spring guest blogging

I got to guest blog for Full Circle again! This time on the Top 10 Spring Ingredients to look forward to. You know, there are no "real" Spring veggies or fruits now a days- I mean, you get all of it, all year round! Except, perhaps those fresh green peas, and garlic spears. Celebrating Grains

Woo-hoo! I got one more opportunity to guest blog for Full Circle. Thanks, FC!

Last week, I got an email from them asking me if I would like to write on the topic, 4 Other Grains to Eat besides Rice. OF COURSE I'd like to write on this topic, was my response (sans all the caps......)! I mean, what an exciting thing to write about! I could have written a mighty long article on this topic, however, there's this thing called word-limit, and so I had to chop it up. Well, the post turned out decent enough. The pictures turned out pretty good. Oh, and they were nice enough to put my picture up there, too. *GRIN*

If you haven't gone to your local farmer's market, you must do so. The produce there is simply fresh and beautiful. Strolling around the market is so relaxing and refreshing, and above all, you support your local farmers!! 

A Small Achievement!

I am so excited! My article got selected for publication in the Winter 2011, Volume 16, Number 3 edition of  "Education About Asia," and is out now! Well, this is only for the online version, but, for a first timer, this is pretty big! I wrote on FOOD- of course; specifically on Poha and its relation to Krishna.

Here goes my Vote of Thanks: 

• I owe it first of all, to my brother, for giving me that much-needed push. Thanks, bro!
• Next, I owe it to all those umpteen Amar Chitra Katha comics that I read back as a kid, that means- thanks to my folks for spending all their hard earned money on those comics- totally worthwhile, I must say! 
• And of course, I owe it to EAA for accepting my article and putting it up in their Winter edition!!
